Bishop's Stortford
North-east of central London by (43 km) 27 miles, to the M11 motorway's west on the boundary of the county with Essex, and from Liverpool Street station (56 km) 35 miles by rail, Bishop's Stortford is a Hertfordshire market town. Bishop's Stortford was a market town by 1801, and, while the industry was malting, a corn exchange had been established.
